My Journey
Growing up in Norfolk, my childhood revolved around sports. Whether it was kicking a ball around with friends or trying my hand at different disciplines, I loved the competitive nature and camaraderie that came with playing. However, rugby held a special place in my heart. Playing alongside my two brothers and my dad created some of my most cherished memories, and from an early age, I knew I wanted to pursue the sport at the highest level.
In 2016, after finishing school, I moved to Leicester to chase that dream. Just a year later, in November 2017, I had the privilege of making my Leicester Tigers debut—a lifelong goal. I began my career as a scrum-half, but in 2021, I transitioned to playing on the wing and at fullback, adapting to new challenges and broadening my skill set. Over the course of eight seasons at Leicester Tigers, I gained invaluable experience in an elite sporting environment, learning what it takes to compete at the highest level.
However, in January 2024, my journey took an unexpected turn. A serious eye injury sidelined me, and after months of recovery and tough decisions, I was forced to retire from professional rugby in November 2024 at just 26 years old. While there were many goals I had yet to achieve, I quickly found a new passion—coaching. The transition was challenging, but it became clear that helping young players develop their skills and knowledge of the game was incredibly rewarding.
Currently, I coach within the Leicester Tigers Academy, the Junior Academy, and the Women’s program, as well as assist with the first team. My experiences, both as a player under world-class coaches and alongside some of the best players in the game, have given me a deep understanding of what it takes to succeed.
Now, my goal is to give back to the sport by creating opportunities for young, aspiring rugby players. Through one-on-one and small group sessions, I want to help players improve all aspects of their game, learning directly from myself and current professional and international players.
Rugby has given me so much, and though my playing career was cut short, my passion for the game remains as strong as ever. Now, I’m dedicated to helping the next generation reach their potential and achieve their own dreams in the sport.
